Dr. David Chao is Chief Administrative Officer of Centessa Pharmaceuticals. Most recently, Dave held the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer of Stowers Institute for Medical Research and President and Chief Executive Officer of BioMed Valley Discoveries.
Dave was also the President of the Stowers Institute Graduate School from 2010 to 2018 and a member of the Board of Directors for the American Century Companies from 2012 to 2020.
Earlier in his career, Dave was head of strategic alliances global operations at the Novartis Institutes of BioMedical Research and a consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Products Practice.
Dave holds a PhD in biology from MIT and a combined AM and AB in biology from Harvard College.
